Adopt A Grandparent
Thanksgiving Celebration.
It’s been too many years to count since the senior residents at the Walden Oaks senior living facility in Woodstock have been able to gather together at Thanksgiving to share a meal.
Fisher Outreach Group will be cooking and hosting a traditional Thanksgiving meal for them. The event will take place on Saturday November 23, 2024.
We will be seeking donations of all the items needed to provide this meal, and your support will be appreciated!
Monetary donations are needed as well!
Remember, we are 100% volunteer so 100% of your donation goes directly to providing our programs.

ADOPT A GRANDPARENT THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
The Adopt A Grandparent Holiday Program is definitely a senior favorite.
This program offers each participating senior the opportunity to create a wish list of items they may want or need, but may not be able to afford.
We then work with the community to fill those wish lists and make Christmas magic happen for our participating seniors.
So many of the seniors in our programs don’t have family close by to support them. This is our way of letting them know that they are not alone or forgotten.
The seniors that participate in our programs reside in low income living facilities, nursing homes and/or memory care facilities. We also support seniors through McHenry County Senior Services.
Here’s an easy way to support our Adopt A Grandparent seniors by providing a gift they have requested.

Clickmas in Crystal Lake in partnership with Fisher Outreach Group, Inc., will be holding a food drive to benefit participating Adopt A Grandparent Program seniors!
Bring the family to see our larger than life Santa, Tribute to the Military, the Grinch and so much more.
Don't forget to bring a food donation to help seniors who may be struggling with food insecurity.

It breaks our hearts that anyone in our country would suffer from homelessness and we want to do what we can to help those in need.
We are currently collecting the following items that are needed by our homeless veterans.
Sleeping bags, warm coats, winter boots, hats, gloves, scarves, long underwear, socks and handwarmers.
Items can be dropped off at the Fisher Outreach Group, Inc. office located at 8600 US Hwy 14, Suite 106A, Crystal Lake (lower level). Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. This is the office building located next to McHenry County College.

We collect children's coats, snow pants, gloves, hats and scarves year round and hold an annual giveaway each November.

Donations needed for VETERAN AND MILITARY FAMILY THANKSGIVING FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
Let’s help our veteran’s and military families have a great Thanksgiving!
We’ve been asked to do a collection to provide food to these hero families for Thanksgiving.
Looking for traditional items such as: frozen turkeys, ham, canned goods, stuffing mix, desserts/dessert mixes, etc.
If you would like to make a contribution, please contact us.

THE EGG-TRA SPECIAL EGG PROJECT
We are so egg-cited to announce that our last minute, pre Valentine’s Day, Adopt A Grandparent Egg Project was a huge success.
Backstory….I received several calls/texts/messages from our seniors asking where they could find eggs…that weren’t $5.99 a dozen because they couldn’t afford them at that price.
Broke my heart. So I took to social media asking the community where I could find eggs for under $5 a dozen because Fisher Outreach Group wanted to buy eggs and gift them to our seniors.
That lead to our amazing community, coming together once again and making magic happen!!
Our thanks to the FOG team, the wonderful people at Blessed Little Kitchen (Huntley), Papa Saverios of Huntley, and the community, for your donations of eggs and egg cartons.
Because of you we were able to distribute 240 dozen eggs to local seniors and to the families at Family Health Partnership Clinic!
The smiles said it all and reminds me once again, how truly simple it is to make a difference in someone’s life. It reminds me of the difference we can make when we pull together as a community.
It’s why Fisher Outreach Group is a 100% Volunteer based Non Profit Organization. That means that no one earns a salary or financial compensation for running our group and 100% of any funds/items donated go directly to the programs we offer.

Mr. Jim is an Air Force Veteran, Stage 4 Cancer Survivor, father and a very sweet man!
